Diverse China Travel’s Summer Tour was completed with great success.

Our annual Kham Tibet summer tour centers on giant panda conservation, Kham Tibetan cultural immersion, biological environment protection, and outdoor experiences like hiking and horseback riding amid picturesque landscapes of blooming meadows and snow-capped mountains.

The journey kicks off in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, where we first head to Bifengxia Panda Sanctuary for a full day of volunteer work. This hands-on experience offers deep insights into giant panda conservation efforts.

From there, we venture further west into the Dadu River Valley, staying in Tibetan villages to immerse ourselves in the agrarian Tibetan lifestyle. At a local forest school, we’ll engage in authentic Tibetan cultural learning and activities. The surrounding scenery here is stunning—these villages have even been hailed as some of China’s most beautiful.

Continuing west, we ascend gradually to Tagong Grassland, situated over 3,700 meters (12,000 feet) above sea level. Here, we’ll visit nomadic Tibetan families, experiencing their daily life firsthand. A highlight awaits: a two-hour horseback ride across the grassland to a mountain summit, where we’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of snow-capped Yala Mountain. The butter tea brewed by our host families is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Throughout the trip, we’ll also make stops at various Tibetan temples, adding spiritual depth to our journey.
